Berlin’s Coolest New Place to Stay: A Modern Houseboat with a View

The Modern Houseboat Berlin

The Modern Houseboat is a unique opportunity to discover the adventure of life on water while unwinding and taking in the natural surroundings of the city of Berlin.

Houseboat Berlin

Located on Lake Rummelsburg, a small bay in the river Spree, there is hardly a more unique place to stay in Berlin: the entire front of the houseboat opens up through huge windows that offer views of the bay, city and the landmark TV tower on the horizon. You feel completely withdrawn from the bustle of the city with only a few ducks and Ludwig, the swan occasionally coming by for breakfast, yet you’re only 15 minutes from the city centre.

The boat features a minimal interior not to distract the eye from the amazing view through the floor-to-ceiling windows covering the entire front of the boat. Much of the furniture including the sofas and the beds are custom-made.

Fireplace Modern Houseboat

The boat is approximately 60 square meters and features an open kitchen (with dishwasher, fridge/freezer etc.), a large living area with a retractable double bed and a couch, a shower room, a separate toilet and the main bedroom with a comfortable double bed overlooking the water. There is a fireplace to keep the boat warm in winter and air-conditioning for hot summer nights. Two lovely “˜Bella Ciao’ bikes are also available for the guests to use. Just like the boat, they are hand-crafted, timeless classics.

The boat is available to rent and sleeps two adults and two children.

Awesome to see! Very unique. Thanks! For those with a couple of pennies more, there’s this :-).

  • On A Junket

Beautiful captures. I wonder how the boat can handle rough waves. and if it ever leaves the dock.

We love staying in unique places like this!

Very cozy flat and absolutely fantastic location. Are helpful, very friendly and well organized. The check-in/out was smooth and nice. When I arrived the apartment was fresh and clean. You will also find all necessary equipment in the apartment – coffee machine, kettle, vacuum cleaner, among others. I found it particularly useful because I stayed long term.

Sounds really cool! Although, for those on a budget, there are cheaper ways to experience Berlin’s rivers.

  • Kerry (Goodtrippers)

Wow – very cool! How nice to wake up to that view of water every morning – although not very private by the looks of things!
