On September 21, tens of thousands of people will come together in NYC just as world leaders arrive in town for an emergency climate summit at the UN. The massive gathering of people from around the country will stand in unity for the People’s Climate March, which is anticipated to be the largest demonstration on climate change in history. Here’s why:
The People’s Climate March will bring together students, union workers, environmental justice organizations, survivors of Hurricane Sandy, and more. Approximately 1000 organizations have endorsed the march, and students from more than 300 colleges and universities will be attending and will march together to demonstrate the power and the demands of the millennial generation.
The March is expected to attract tens of thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands, of people to New York City on September 21, two days before President Obama and other world leaders will attend a critical Climate Summit at the United Nations.
