How the “Organic” Label has Become a Highly Profitable Marketing Scam

USDA Organic

These days it seems that organic products can be found just about anywhere and in any form. Ice cream cones, gum, cheese doodles and even hair and body care products don the label, but does this mean that anything marketed as organic is better, or more healthful than products that don’t bear the stamp?

Kip Pastor, Director and Producer of the food documentary In Organic We Trust, sets out on a personal journey to answer commonly asked questions about organic food such as: What exactly is organic? And is it really better, or just a marketing scam?

Pastor examines the food and agriculture industry through the eyes of farmers, organic certifiers, scientists, and organic critics to explore the content beneath the label and the truth behind the marketing. It takes a balanced approach to clear up misconceptions about organic food while highlighting practical solutions that are transforming the way we grow and eat.

The film will be available January 22 nationwide On-Demand, or can be pre-ordered on iTunes.
