Traveling responsibly is something we should all be mindful of as tourism industries grow in developing countries and continues to explode in the developed world. It’s important to limit your footprint when traveling anywhere, and to always be aware of cultural etiquette so as not to disturb the country’s balance with your arrival.

Budget Travel recently posted an article that included some notable tips on how to ethically contribute to the places and communities you are visiting along with some interesting information on finding the most ethical tour operators and how to appropriately partake in political conversations with locals.

The article also points out that countries such as “Argentina, Barbados, Chile, Costa Rica, Dominica, Latvia, Lithuania, Palau, Poland, and Uruguay were named by Ethical Traveler as “The World’s Best Ethical Destinations”. The organization awards these countries for “doing the most work to protect the environment, promote human rights, and encourage “social welfare.”
