The Culture-ist has an extensive network of highly talented contributors from around the globe. Some are travelers, others are women’s rights activists, authors, experts or environmentalists. We’ve also had journalists contribute controversial stories about global issues and photographers who want to share powerful cultural experiences through evocative imagery.
Whoever you are, we want to hear your story.
If you are a talented writer interested in building your portfolio or in syndicating content, submit your post here (note this is an unpaid opportunity):
If you are an experienced writer, payment for accepted submissions is between $25-$100 depending on level of experience. We require first rights for all pieces.
Submissions should be between 600-800 words. We do accept long-form manuscripts, but ask that you are an experienced writer in this area.
We try to respond to all submissions, but sometimes it can take up to three months – we thank you for your patience in advance.
The Culture-ist offers our contributors a variety of opportunities from invitations to media events to networking among our eclectic community of writers. We always include the author’s bio and a link to his/her website. The Culture-ist has been featured on National Geographic, Architectural Digest, AFAR, GOOD and Gothamist (among others), and our stories are syndicated on AOL’s Lifestyle Collective, Business Insider, Goodnet, Conscious Lifestyle Magazine, Travel+Social Good and The Huffington Post.
