This is Bernadette. She lives in a poor community on the outskirts of Kigali, Rwanda. Bernadette spends much of her monthly income to send her children to school. Her husband cannot work so the family’s entire financial burden falls on her. She hopes the extra money she will earn from the farming cooperative will allow her to provide better shelter for her family and to save enough money to open her own vegetable stand. We love how through it all she still manages to share laughter and smiles with us.
